Our CNC Swiss screw machine is an automated lathe that machines small to medium-sized turned parts. Screw machining is extremely accurate and creates parts with a tighter tolerance. It allows us to rapidly produce a large number of custom precision parts at a relatively low price.
Our screw machine is a high-end CNC 8-axis machine that can turn workpieces up to 1-inch in diameter and uses a 12′ bar feeder for continuous production. The two-spindle operation allows the machine to perform several operations on the same piece in a shorter amount of time to speed production. Setting up a multi-axis machine like this takes an experienced operator more time than setting up a CNC lathe, but when completed, it can run continually with minimal operator intervention. This makes screw machining typically more cost-effective for high volume runs.
